A customised pair of sneakers for Gorman – they’ll be shown in Sydney on the 10th of May, and Melbourne after that.
They’ll be up for sale, with all proceeds going to charity — it’s a complete dream to have anything to do with Gorman –
the only catch is they’re a sample size 37, and I had to call through my whole address book to find someone with feet small enough to wear
them (thanks Reiko!). xx

A dress made for my very first solo show three years ago, sewn with Warren Harrison, and tattooed by Paul Stillen — -
made from a tattooed kangaroo skin, all the drawings are hidden on the inside – made to rub & age with wear & sweat.

Finally finished a sketchbook & a diary that I’ve carried for two years with me – I’ve lost count, but I think it’s taken me to Tokyo &
New York twice, to London & Ukraine more times than I can count, to Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Atlanta, Saudi Arabia, Los Angeles,
Belgorod — and just about everywhere in Australia. It feels strange to put it back on the shelf.

It’s mainly kept as a diary, with pages & pages of writing, but starting to keep as a sketchbook again, in the last pages. 
Tickets are booked again to Tokyo, hopefully a billion more drawings in the new book xx m

I made this week’s guest mix tape for We Dance Alone – LAX SUXX. A playlist of songs I was listening to a lot while in
Los Angeles last year – not being able to sleep & riding my bike around at midnight, quiet & strange, kind of dreamy & sleazy
music, my favourite bits of California. Like a driving mix ; except that I can’t drive, which is probably what makes me feel out of sorts in Los Angeles, drifting along on a bicycle everywhere. Let me know what you think, I hope you like it, — more soon? xx

Bertram. Only for a few months, but just in time to work on a solo show for Sydney in April, and for Ghostpatrol to stretch
out in our own studio & finish all his huge paintings for a show at Hugo Michell. The studio is a dream, & I can’t believe how
productive I have already been. Almost scary. xx m.

A map of Berlin, woven through the structure of a spider web — – comes into blocks of memory ; fades into details at Kes’ house on
Schonhauser Allee (where Ellen was too), by the canal in Kreuzberg, right by where Molly used to live, Louis’ bar in Mitte, the walk to
the stadium in Prenzlauerberg ; then fades out again. Weaving paths and a place to live over time. 

I’ve been thinking a lot about the way we experience cities & artworks – not as a real whole, but more like patches of details in memory.
It’s a pleasure to walk the streets from memory as I punch the holes on the paper, lapse where I stop remembering a block, tie it into the
spider’s web & start again when it comes back to me. I was worried that all it would do is make me miss Berlin, but it kept me distracted
to follow the way a spider builds a web, copy the order & understand it structurally. xxm.

I have been trading with Anny for a little while now –  her beautiful jewellery for home-made tattoos. A smaller moon is something that
I’d been meaning to make for a long time ; & I’m glad she prompted it. This one is a map of her old block in Brooklyn, until a few months
ago, when she moved back to Melbourne & we began our swaps — –  this time, a moon for two rings.
